SSU Events & Programming
Take a look at the impact made during the 2025–2026 academic year:
Wellness Month 2026
In January 2026, the SSU kicked off the new year with a new addition: Wellness Month that welcomed students to tap into their dimensions of wellness. Our events team, alongside other departments within the SSU offered students everything from sound bowl mediations, comedy shows and a fan favourite spa day on campus!
Last year, our events department continued to invest in events and programming that supported your well-being:
The SSU Events & Programming Department continued its partnership with Sheridan Residence by delivering Wellness Orientation Sessions, promotional outreach initiatives, and engaging evening programs that helped foster connection, community, and a positive transition into student life. These initiatives reached approximately 1,150 residence students, including 800 students at Trafalgar Residence and 350 students at Davis Residence.
Through 12 off-campus events, the SSU Events & Programming Department enhanced student engagement, promoted well-being, and fostered community building. Programs such as family-friendly trips to Downey’s Farm, hikes at Mono Cliffs, and visits to the Distillery Winter Village provided opportunities for students to build connections, strengthen their sense of belonging, and engage with the broader community beyond campus.
Through 15 health and wellness initiatives, the SSU Events & Programming Department delivered a consistent calendar of programming, including Wellness Spa Days, Soup It Up, and outdoor hiking experiences. These initiatives promoted student well-being, encouraged peer connection, and provided students with meaningful opportunities to manage stress throughout the academic year.
