A Message from the President

Ganyo Soh, Sheridan Student Union President 2024-2025

I am filled with pride as I reflect on the remarkable difference Sheridan Student Union has made in supporting student success at Sheridan. The 2023-2024 academic year brought unprecedented growth in support of clubs, inclusivity, student spaces and wellness initiatives, creating more ways for students to thrive than ever before:

  • Sheridan Student Union employed over 150 students, reaffirming that the SSU is truly student-led and student-run.

  • With student feedback, the SSU enhanced our campus spaces with renovations at The Den and an upcoming update to the Trafalgar Student Centre, ensuring our facilities meet the evolving needs of our diverse student body.

  • From launching innovative programs like our Hygiene Kits initiative to expanding mental health support and gender affirming care through Empower Me Plus, we've prioritized the wellbeing of our students in a meaningful way.

  • Our commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion through advocacy, cultural celebrations and committee work continues to be a top priority. With an inaugural Cultural Week hosted by our Clubs, a record-breaking Holi celebration, the creation of a Black Excellence Mentorship Program and the reintroduction of Sheridan Student Union’s Building Positive Spaces kits, last year showed us that our dedication to fostering belonging as a community has never been stronger.

These achievements would not be possible without the dedication of our staff, partners, student leaders, and most importantly, you - our vibrant student community. As we look to the future, we remain committed to amplifying student voices and creating meaningful impact for Sheridan students.

We are honoured to serve you.

Ganyo Soh

Sheridan Student Union President, 2024-2025

A Message from the Board of Directors

Gulsher Cheema, Sheridan Student Union Board of Directors 2024-2025

As a student led organization, Sheridan Student Union’s Board members are voted in by you, our peers, to represent your best interests and to help advocate for the best student experience at Sheridan College. From making campus life more fun and inclusive to ensuring you have the support you need, the SSU is here to enhance your #SheridanLife.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am proud to celebrate the impact Sheridan Student Union has had in the Sheridan community, not only during the 2023-2024 academic year, but for nearly 50 years now!

Our mission is to create an exceptional student experience through student focused programs, services, and advocacy and that commitment has driven us to invest in meaningful changes that matter to you. Not only have we supported important campus programs like Sheridan’s Health and Promotion Specialist team, the SSU has also provided financial support for students through Bursaries, Scholarships and Awards and made groundbreaking contributions to the creation of new and improved Student Centres at all three campuses.

Over the last two years, we have proudly seen the impact of these contributions in support of the student experience, creating true community and empowering student success on and off campus. We are proud to serve this vibrant community and remain committed to advocating for student needs and empowering students to succeed in a changing world.

Let's see where the next 50 years take us!
